Gucci Tom Ford Era 2003 Sleek Tan Kitten Heel Ankle Boots - EU38

Considered one of the most striking, iconic and collectable pieces from Tom Ford's Fall 2003 Collection for Gucci, the thigh high leather boots strode down the runway, and into the cultural zeitgeist of the era, becoming one of the most talked about items of the collection. 

These calf length versions of the infamous boot cut just as much of a sleek silhouette as their thigh high sisters. Composed with the same, buttery soft leather, famous for molding itself to the leg, they follow the architectural structure, with reinforced cognac shaded heel and the same delicate yet powerful small round gold studding detail, seen throughout the Fall Ready to Wear line. These feature a slight kitten heel in place of the slim stiletto seen on the runway, but maintain that same, seductively sharp and elongated cut. 

These have been beautifully kept and well cared for - despite the sharp tip, there is minimal scuffing to the body. Where the shoe moves up past the ankle and into the calf, some wear is visible. This includes what looks like faint sun damage to the dye of the leather and some puckering around the top of the boot, which is almost invisible once they are zipped up. 

They have been carefully re-soled at least once, but with great precision. The interior does show some stretching around the stitching - not surprising given the figure-hugging nature of the boot and they are lined in a black fabric and feature the now archival code '120084'. 

What we love about these, is whilst they don't have the heel or height of thigh high pair so beloved by the fashion world, they are arguably, more practical, with their calf length height and sweet yet still deadly kitten heel.
