Vintage 1900 British Navy Copper Jug

This beautiful copper jug is at least 105 years old, and came with the following note attached:

'My grandfather (Starling) was a a Commodore in the British Royal Navy. He was involved in many spheres of World War 1 including the Crimea and China (Boxer Rebellion). One of the traditions of the Royal Navy, going back many years, well before the battle of Trafalgar in 1805, was to give every seaman at Noon a Tot of Rum. It was served from a Copper Jug by a Senior Officer. My grandfather was one of those Officers and this was his Jug. It is at least 105 years old.'

  • 8/10 vintage condition - wear to the jug including dint at the base;
