1920s Silver & 9ct Gold Art Deco Cigarette Case

An absolute stunning find, we have this incredible 1920s cigarette case. This is a 800 alloy silver, so it probably originated somewhere in Europe, possibly Germany or even Russia given the engraved inscription within, which also provides us the date 1928. This features exquisite 9ct solid gold art deco patterns on the front, beautifully engraved along with the making the small lift to open the case, which is features a green embedded gemstone - this is quite worn but we believe this may be jade. 

Within the case is in good condition and features small markings which do look almost English, but given that this is an 800 silver, seems unlikely. Given the age of this item and that it is a softer silver material, it is in remarkable condition with minimal wear and tear. It  has been given a precursory polish but would certainly benefit from a more loving clean. 

It has been a privilage to have this item in the online store as we doubt we'll come across anything quite as unique as this for some time.
