Wedgwood Dark Blue Neoclassical Jasperware Hair Receiver

$80
Originally we thought this may have been some kind of potpourri vessel, however this beautiful container is actually a hair receiver, an item often found on a Victorian dressing table, and still common right up to the 50s. Apparently the purpose of this jar was to collect hair from brushes to create all manner of items, ranging from hair art, pincushions or small pillows. Very thrifty. This beautiful container could be put to more modern uses if hair art or human hair pillows arent your thing. It would make a wonderful vase.
